Pocket Sized Card Downloads
The pocket-sized cards span seven disability categories: Autistic, Disabled, Deaf, Blind, Brain Injury, Mobility, and Mental Health “Condition.”
These cards are designed to support quick, clear communication and can be handed to a community support person or used as a visual aid when someone needs direct support. They are also intended to clearly and quickly communicate an individual's access needs if that individual is in ICE custody.
We recommend creating a safety plan with at least two emergency contacts so they can share sensitive or necessary information with a person providing direct support if contacted. There are many individual circumstances, and much of that information needs to be kept private.
Each PDF is organized by a single disability category and adapted to meet different access needs related to that category. A general disability option is included for individuals who prefer not to disclose specific disability identification.
Each file includes one page for non-English-speaking individuals and one for English-speaking individuals. Every page includes one row labeled “read me” without a visible disability identifier, and one with a disability identifier, allowing individuals to choose their preferred level of disclosure.
The cards are formatted for front-and-back printing. You will need to choose which page to print at a time since non‑English and English pages are included in one document. The design allows multiple cards to be printed at once.
Since it is a PDF document, you can type the information in a PDF editor.
These cards are not perfect. Given the urgency, they are offered with harm reduction, access, and community care as the goal.
